Candle Care and Burn Safety

When burning candles, follow these safety 8 tips:

1- Trim your wick to 1/4 inch (6mm) prior to each lighting.
Trimming your wick helps prevent debris from falling into your wax, the flame from getting to large, and soot formation on the container or elsewhere.
2- Remove any dust or debris from the candle's surface.
You can gently wipe dust off using a tissue. Fortunately, our candles come with covers that can prevent dust from collecting on the candles surface. Any wick debris should also be removed.
3- Store your candles flat in a cool, dark, and dry location.
It is recommended to store candles in 65 to 70°F. Storing elsewhere may cause wax and fragrance oils to separate. Improper storage may also cause the wax to detach from the container.
4- Optimal burn time is no more than four hours.
This ensures that there is a full melt pool and no wax buildup at the edge of the vessel. This also prevents the containers from getting too hot and cracking. Lighting your candle in a drafty area should also be avoided.
5- Discontinue use when about 1/2 inch of wax remains in the candle.
Burning your candle too low can cause the wick to disconnect from the container and drift towards the edge. Then, the container could get too hot and crack. However, using a candle warmer is valid to fully utilize your candle.
6- Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
This ensures they don't knock over the candle or injure themselves.
7- Don't burn candle out of sight or use it as a night light.
This mitigates the risk of a house fire or injury.
8- Place candles on heat-resistant, stable surface when burning.

Also, keep it 2 feet away from curtains, books, clothing or other flammable objects. At one point, over half of candle fires start because the candle was too close to combustible materials.
